It is important not to create spam and now more than ever. Movistar has officially confirmed in writing that it is the cause of the ADSL cuts and interruptions. Customers affected in recent days should contact the operator directly, as responsible for said cuts to their service.
Movistar is blocking all customers who are listed on Spamhaus. The reasons may be diverse: improper data traffic, viruses, spam, etc.
The importance lies in monitoring the content of your PC and the misuse of your ADSL. That is why you may be one of those affected by the speed of your ADSL or its interruption. It is the first official recognition of Movistar and we want to share with you to inform you of what has happened since last Sunday.
Why am I in Spamhaus?
All clients who have generated spam, or who have an IP that Movistar has considered ‘dirty’ have entered the Spamhaus list. This does not mean that you are to blame for the problem. It may also be the case that you are affected by another blocked IP, since since it is dynamic, you may have been assigned the IP of another user who was generating spam and you may be the one indirectly affected. Be that as it may, if your ADSL IP is in Spamhaus, contact Movistar as soon as possible.
As Movistar officially acknowledges, the origin of the problem is that the servers are using the Spamhaus PBL list for their local clients. Movistar has assured that these customers have already delisted and can access its network normally.
Make sure you check that your IP is clean, that it is free of spam, that you do not use free download programs and if you see that your IP is blocked, contact the company. Everything we expose is considered improper use of the service according to the Movistar contract.
What can I do if I am affected by the problem?
If you want to contact Movistar, you can call 1002, which is their breakdown service line, or know that you can send a direct message (DM) to their Movistar_es Twitter channel. The company is responding via Twitter to its customers. Contact Movistar, report the problem and we hope they can solve it soon.
