Memcached is a cache storage system, designed to use the server’s RAM to store variables, objects or even database queries with the aim of minimizing the load and disk accesses for the generation of these objects, causing a large acceleration of dynamic web applications.
Thanks to this, there is no longer any need or concern to access the hard drive memory, since the data is obtained from the RAM, which is what reduces latency time, and increases the performance of web applications.
